In May 2012, the city of Dortmund located in the federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia will be holding the next symposium. As the 7th largest city in Germany, Dortmund has always been an industrial area. The city is today, home to many medium-size information technology companies.

The Tagungszentrum Dortmund, which will host the FoSTDIC 2012, is located at the Dortmund Technology Centre with a direct access to the highway and downtown. Up to 300 free parking spaces are available in the convention centre. The centre is also of easy access by public transport.
